Do you want to follow your passions to a career that lights you up? Excellent! A career that fits will give energy and meaning to your work and your life.

And you absolutely can do this.

The first step is to identify your passions. If you’re not sure what they are or how to get clear, start here ~

Let yourself love what you love

As you live through your days, start to notice what makes you feel good, happy, peaceful, content, energized, creative, curious, engaged.

Fleeting feelings and small moments count as well as experiences that last longer. (And if “love” feels foreign to you, go with “like,” “intrigue,” “interest,” “captivate,” “motivate,” etc.)

Everything counts. What you love doesn’t have to connect obviously to a career path.

If you hear an inner voice telling you that what you love doesn’t matter, just notice the voice. You can pat it on the head, give it a cookie, and let it go sit off in a corner of your mind. But also keep on letting yourself notice what interests, intrigues, captivates or engages you.

If you let yourself notice what you love, here’s what will happen ~

  • You can choose to do more of these things. Imagine what that will be like.
  • You’ll have more energy. When you notice things you love, the positive feelings you generate will fill your battery.
  • Your inner compass will lead you toward your deeper passions.
  • You’ll be happier right where you are, right now.
  • You’ll remember other things that you love.
  • You’ll find lost parts of yourself.
  • You’ll be able to find your way back when you feel lost or discouraged.

You get to love what you love. This is your biggest clue to your passions and your superpowers.

Start noticing. Pause and savor. Journal. Make lists. Tell a trusted friend. Own what you love.

Do this for a while – several weeks, a month. Or longer.

See how your life starts to feel more like your own.

What you love are your clues to your life’s passions and to a career that lights you up. Look for patterns that might lead you on your path. If you’d like support with this, I’m here to help.
